Hope from the Post

Yes, the RE market has sucked rather royally of late. But according to Kenneth Harney, WaPo RE Columnist who has been doing this longer than I've been alive, it's just a cycle and we'll be OK in 2008:
"Even through the grimmest headlines of 2007, there were a number of
positive underlying economic forces propping up real estate and keeping
it from a true bust. If those forces continue, they should help cut the
time needed for the correction cycle to bottom out and the inevitable
recovery cycle to begin."
Sounds good to me! I hope he's right!

A new name for the New Year: Tyson's Title Tidbits is history

OK, it's the dawn of a new year, and the dawn of a new title and slug for this blog.

The previous name was not as helpful to you, dear reader, and it is you this blog seeks to serve. "The Maryland Real Estate Page" is much more to the point, because that is my focus here--all things Real Estate in Maryland.

The new slug, or subtitle, as of today, is "Real Estate, Mortgage Lending, Title Services: News and opinion from around the world for real estate buyers, investors, realtors & lenders." Hopefully this will help the Googles and Yahoos of the world help interested readers find us. If that's how you got here, we know it works!

My purpose is simple -- to share what I learn with those of you interested in the world of real estate. And just as the settlement agent represents neither the buyer nor the seller in the real estate transaction, but rather the integrity of the transaction itself, so will this blog seek to inform and not to persuade. I'm not here to recommend Realtor A over Realtor B, or Mortgage Banker X over Mortgage Broker Y. I am here to share the news about them all, and sometimes offer opinions (which I am not allowed to do at the closing table), and let you decide for yourself.

I welcome all feedback, and will do my best to respond to everyone who takes the time to submit it.
