Real Estate Investor Web Site

Spent a little time playing with this site. Since I saw a few people I know on there, I guess I can recommend it here. :)

Actually it's a pretty good compilation of news, in-depth articles, forums and blogs, and all geared to the real estate investor. You can create your own real estate focused blog there. Hey, now there's an idea!

Check it out:

Thanks for the props on your blog. Even though you talked smack about my web 2.0 webinar, I guess this evens it out a little bit.

We give you 25k pages of free content on REI but I do a free webinar and you thrash me, kinda amusing.

You want content, pony up a little cash, get our course, and we'll crush you with content bro.

Hard to have any substantiation with lack of content critism when you listen to a free webinar.

Yes, COLIN, I like your site. But your webinar suck dass. Lots of content promised, virtually none delivered. And for the record, I didn't talk smack or thrash you in public, only via private email. But if you want to air it out here, fine by me.

Like too many Internet marketers, you spent way too much time tooting your own horn, selling the dream, and of course, selling your own products.

By selling the dream I mean suggesting that you hold the secret to making a fortune by combining real estate investing and the wondrous internet marketing concepts of web 2.0. All one has to do is spend a small fortune to buy your product(s), and a much bigger fortune awaits.

I don't begrudge you hawking your own stuff. That's what IM is all about. But if you want to build a loyal following, you should follow the example set by Frank Kern, who delivers RIA: Results in Advance. RIA builds a loyal fan base, which in turn helps you sell more. A lot more.

Mike Collins over at http://www.rehablist.com/ gets it. Watch some of his videos, you'll be amazed at what he gives away. Steve Cook over at http://www.flippinghomes.com/ gets it. He also does free webinars, and yes he sells his stuff, but 90% of his time is spent giving out real, solid, useful content.

Why would anyone pony up almost a thousand bucks to buy your "web 2.0" stuff, which is almost certainly available for free for anyone who knows how to Google, when you don't even deliver on the simplest of promises?

Food for thought.
